Beeline Navigation
Discussion
I've ordered one, it's the standard kickstarter issue of not having factored in enough delays and publishing a delivery schedule. Everyone jumps on them the longer it goes on, but the reality of serial production is things do get delayed/need reworking etc.
Apparently the first run of plastic units arrived in the UK on Thursday/Friday, so they should be at their HQ by now and posting in the next couple of weeks.

Yes but the problem I have is that if i dont get it by the 24th of this month its going to get lost in the post as I wont be around for some time after that date.
I'm trying to tell them this, so at least I can give them another address to post to. But as of now only silence.
Its bloody annoying. Do you have a telephone number for them by any chance ?

No phone number, you could try Twitter or FB:

Have you been back through the shipping survey to see if it can be updated?

My initial reason for being interested in the Beeline device is because I wanted a sat nav that required me to use more of my own navigational skills than most do. I like still having to use road signs etc. and play a more active part in navigation...but am nevertheless too lazy most of the time to plan a route on a map and write directions, although when I do get round to it this is my preferred method.
I was researching devices (or phone apps) which literally just use an arrow pointing in the direction of your destination and leave you to work out how to get there. Clearly, this would be potentially horrendous if you were in a hurry, but could be very fun if just going for a pootle or with a destination but loads of time to get there.
It turns out that the Beeline devices has two modes: one where the arrow works in the way I've just mentioned, and one where the arrow actually points towards the individual junctions etc. that you're meant to take. I like its small form factor and minimal interface...but also suspect that it may be a bit too minimal if I do want to use it as 'normal' turn-by-turn navigation.
Despite the above reservations I decided to take the risk and support the project (I had actually had a few beers when I decided this...). I'll post a report on this thread when I've tried it once it's arrived, which hopefully it will do soon...

Got one ordered too. Reason being silly price of conventional bike sat nav. Also I don't fancy having to look down at one whilst doing a hundred leptons an hour. This seemed the ideal device to get me home if lost for a mere hundred quid. Just hope it arrives. Could be worse...... might have a 1000 rr on order!
I'd never heard of this before but it's a great little idea. It's a pain in the arse going places you don't know on a bike and then having to keep pulling over, taking off your gloves, getting the phone out and figuring out where you are.
But for £99 when that tomtom one is £150, I'm not sure it's good enough. Less functionality and from a company that could go belly up any day, I know where my money would go.
