Been trying to update my car's blog for the last week and keep getting a picture of "the orginal Fiat 500" and the error "500 Oops, something went wrong". Anyone know what's going on please?

I've tried mutliple PCs, browsers, smartphones, etc. and all get the same error. I've cleared caches, temporary files, etc.

Cheers.... Andrew

Am I posting on the wrong forum? I thought this was the right place for website help?

It is the right section but unfortunately as you may see from other posts, technical issues aren't addressed quickly, not sure if staff don't religiously check this forum or not. Perhaps hit the "report" button in the hope a moderator can highlight it to them.

Hope you get it sorted - one of the more complete blogs here. thumbup
Interesting and useful when they're detailed.

Hi Andrew, sorry for the late reply, I've tried myself a bunch of of different combinations and couldn't replicate your issue, also from monitoring our servers I can't see any unusual error rate there which makes me believe is something down to your account/car you trying to advert, so in order to help us find out what is wrong can you be more specific as of when (which step/action) it fails? Also could you please try a different reg or even a different account just to help us narrow down what the problem is?

Cheers!

It's the car info in his profile that he's referring to, not a classified ad.

eek failed to change context there... thanks for noting!

same still applies, don't seem to be able to reproduce the issue there so if the OP can provide some further details to help me reproduce it would be super!

Hello, sorry for the delay...

I go into My Garage then select TVR Tamora (2002) which is my current car. This takes me to here:-

https://www.pistonheads.com/members/editCar.asp?ca...

Next I click Edit History/Costs and I get the 500 error and this url:-

https://www.pistonheads.com/members/serviceHistory...

I also get to this page/error if I try and Amend the Blog.

If I try to do the same on any of my previous cars I can successfully edit the History/Costs so the error is only with my current car. Could it be related to the size of the blog?

As previously mentioned I get the same error with multiple devices and browsers.

Hope you can help.

Cheers...

Andrew

Hi ALT, sorry somehow I missed your previous message, so I had a look and can't understand why it's failing, my best guess is that you have added this a long long time ago and between then and now something changed in the system that didn't account for your old entry to the my garage system and put it into some sort of bad state.

As a workaround I've re-created your car and it seems to be fine now, you can edit it here: https://www.pistonheads.com/members/editCar.asp?ca...

if you are happy with this you can just delete the old car and use this one from now on.

Please let me know if this solves your problem and sorry for any inconvenience this might have caused

Hi tirolo_, I've checked the new car you've created and I can edit the blog successfully. However the blog is empty and hasn't been copied from the old car entry. The summary has but the blog hasn't.

Can you please copy the blog then I'll check again before you delete the old car.

Thanks for your help.

Cheers... Andrew

Oops, tried to cut a conner there but it didn't really work out did it? biggrin

Ok, had to dig a bit deeper on this and figured that my garage was limited and unable to edit cars where the total service was above around 65k... Bumped it up to about 2 billion, I think it will do for the next few years smile

I've deleted the new car I've created as we don't need it anymore and the old one should work just fine now!

Just to revisit this, sorry for thread resurrection.

Can anyone else actually get pictures to work on the blog section?

I’ve just added one of my cars, and of course the mypic url server no longer exists.

Tried using a picture from thumbsnap but that doesn’t seem to work either?

Anyone got a method of posting pictures on the blog that works?

TIA.

There may be a current thread about this, but I can only access the forum via a google search for a specific thread. I can't access past the Forum Index. Keep getting the error 500. Been like this since about 10.30am.

Many (all) still can, as I can see the latest times of posting across the boards.

Is this just me?

Using Chrome, but tried on Microsoft Edge and the same.

Same here, can't get into website feedback to see if others are having the same issue as well.
