Which cars have 5.75” headlights?

I need to find some options for 5 3/4 lamp assemblies for a project and the obvious starting point is to find out what very common, mass produced British cars used this size but I’ll be damned if I can think of any?

Triumph Vitesse, 2000, Dolomite, Rover 2000 are but a few.

Thanks. Finding the lights it’s not the issue but rather finding the right mounting brackets and the easiest way to do that is to start with the cars that had this size headlights.

The 7 might not have what I’m looking for as isn’t the beam adjusted by moving the pod itself?

Holdens, and I'm sure others, sell the back shells for grille mounting or complete free standing 5¾" light units for wing mounting.

Thanks. I found out that the Princess has them but for some reason there isn’t a raging supply of new parts for them. It’s almost as if they are hugely collectible.

I haven't measured them, but I should think the headlamps on the Jaguar XJ40 with the quad headlamp setup will be 5 3/4".

The brackets are made of yellow passivated steel with the lamps themselves adjustable by turning knobs on the brackets which move rings on which the headlamps themselves are held on by a chrome ring.

The lamps themselves are still available new for not a great deal. XJ40 spares are cheap.

Good shout. Should have thought of the Jag as I owned one for a few years!!

I need to fit the lamps into a Range Rover bubble grill which was originally fitted with Carello 455 units from a Fiat 126 and other Italian cars of that era but while I can still buy the adjustable lugs and clips I have not been able to find the lamps.

I have been looking for 1 Lucas sealed beam headlight for my Vitesse and there are tons on the Bay. Some quite nifty Halogen sets also very reasonably priced. I think they were fitted to over a hundred cars over 20 years or more.

I have managed to find a pair of carellos in Italy so hopefully I can stick with the original set up.

They've got some 5.75 bowls that should be able to be fettled to fit your grille, plus options around the actual lamps too.

Thanks. Had already tried all these UK parts firms. The don’t have anything other than bare bowls and standard brackets etc.

Spent most of the day talking to the Fiat and Alfa specialist as well as the BMW ones but they all work from the car first rather than from a lamp back to the car.

Despite this, I have managed to find a pair of Carello 455s in Italy which I’m currently negotiating over and I have also established that the Bosch units are from a 70s H3 spotlight that was fitted to some BMW motorbikes and to thinks like the Opel Kadett.

So, I can get the originals but getting updated lamps looks like a long slog.
