As above. I’d (maybe wrongly) assume that the 718 GT4 would be better than the 981. The 718 is newer and from £77k. Used 981’s range from £72-86k.

Surely if you were spending £80k+ it would be on the newer model. Or am I missing something?

I’m not in the market for one. Just curious.

The missing link is the availability of cars. Porsche list prices on GT cars are only realised by a lucky few.

Thanks. Didn’t realise this. Are both models limited numbers then? If so what are the rough UK/worldwide numbers for each?

Thanks Ted. Will Porsche intentionally limit the numbers or will they just sell as many as will sell?

They have said that will not be the case

No it wont be made in its thousands like a regular 718 Boxster, but they are intimating that if you want one they will take your order and build it

My OPC has been on Instagram asking if anyone wants one, and to contact them if so

That wouldn't be happening if numbers were expected to be limited,

But if they do more than the 981 gt4 thats a pretty good number tbh. As said thats more produced than a Cayman gts .
Around 100 are sorn .thats 1 fifth seems like put away for future investment.

ChrisW has recently upgraded his 981 GT4. Essentially it is a 718 GT4 Prototype... but better.
430ish HP, 340ish LBFT, KW 3-way suspension, Manthey Lower Arms and ST Carbon Discs.
I went out in it yesterday, as did Hunter and other. It is a package.

Chris car is now very sorted, the mid range punch is mega and it pulls strong every where, it felt like a new GT3.

The sus is magic beans as it don't roll or dive, it now has CUP Monoballs also so no play, and the engine feels wonderfull.
the brakes also just never give in and Chris says they have already paid for themselves due to low wear on parts.

It's a very nice car that GT4 in all respects he must be well chuffed with it.

That is an Interesting point that so many get SORN..never really though of that. I wonder how and when such unicorn mileage cars ever actually realise the upside for the owners/collectors. Seems such a waste.
