Second car what should I get?
Discussion
I'm bored of my current car it's a diesel but it's comfortable and it soaks up the miles I do, so it's staying.
So I want a 2nd car, can be impractical, stupid, I just want it to be an occasion and put a big smile on my face and make me slap the bonnet afterwards (in a good way)
Criteria:
-Not an SUV
-Not diesel
-Preferrably manual if the option is available
-Sound good so maybe NA or supercharged, unless there are any good sounding turbos
-Max £35k (has to be very special at that price) the lower the better
Just want weekend fun, it won't be a daily

I've always fancied a Ford Mustang 5.0 GT Fastback 3dr

Jaguar XK-R is 5.0L Supercharged, lovely engine note (auto only)
Nissan Gt-R 3.8 V6 for all out acceleration (auto only)
Plenty of more ubiquitous Bavarian stuff as well.

Evora - £25K and add a Larini/2bular exhaust for £1500.

Didn't realise these were that cheap, how are they to drive?

If you really want the ultimate weekend thrill, then buy an Ariel Atom. They are stupidly fast, exciting as hell when you want them to be, reliable, cheap to run, rare and as they barely depreciate, make financial sense too.
There are quite a few on here for £30-£35k.
Here's mine:

Looks insane, not sure if I'm prepared for that level of craziness just yet. I see that you've owned a 996 C4S, what's that like? There are quite a few on here for £30-£35k.

Why is everybody suggesting these fat, practical, bloated tintops?
Caterham!
Agreed!Caterham!
OP take a Caterham out for a test drive (or hire one for a weekend). There is very little to compare with a Seven for pure, unadulterated driving pleasure. A BMW, Porsche et al is going to feel too "normal" if you are not pressing on. Yes, some of them are fast and they could be fun if you are driving at the limit but neither is likely at sensible road speeds, whereas a Caterham is fun at all speeds, on the road, on the track, and you won't lose shed loads of cash when you come to sell it, nor will it cost an arm and a leg to maintain.
