Must accommodate two adults, two tweenagers and a small dog; five doors (so hatch or estate); be quick; be "interesting" ... and not a Porsche Macan.

Suggestions please.

Too low for a trackhawk, but you can have a Jeep 6.4 Hemi with 461bhp as standard for 35-40k.

XF-RS 5.0 supercharged estate, again 35k.

ETA, interesting you say... plenty of room for a dog in the back of a Maybach wink 40k.

That Jag is f-ing awesome. I’d do questionable things to be able to have that.

I've been keeping a eye on that Jaguar also, there's only one other Sportbrake one up for sale. Rare to get the V8 in Sportbrake.

When you can afford a RS6 is there any real thought that needs to go into an "all rounder"?

The RS6 or E63S are probably your best bet, however I've just spotted that the new GLC63 can now be purchased for sub £60k, they're meant to be pretty beastly yet practical cars.

Thank you for the suggestions chaps; some intresting options.

MB E53 / E63 is something I hadn't thought of, so will investigate along with C63.

That one is particularly well priced. There are about half a dozen through Jag as approved used, they just don’t put them on AT as they sell quickly enough on their own!

I never thought to look there, but I've just checked and can't see any? There's a few x260 4 cylinder ones but nothing is returning for x250 v8'?

Pop into a Jag garage, not only do you get reasonable coffee, they can also access all the stuff.
