First time here, hello.

Years ago I had a Boxster 986 Anniversary or 550 Spyder it may have been called. GT Silver and Cocoa Leather, 2004 run out model. I loved this combination, it felt special to me.

I’m looking for a new car, I saw in PH classified a 2008 Boxster 987 GT Silver and Cocoa Leather again a run out model. I can’t find anything to say if this is another limited edition.

Google is throwing up a “RS60 Spyder” or a “Sport” with red tail lamps and different bumpers and wheel but nothing else. This car doesn’t look like either.

There doesn’t seem to be any other cars in this colour combination available, is this a limited edition, If so which one?

There was no limited edition 987 with GT Silver/Cocoa combo like the 986 550 Spyder.

987 limited edition was GT Silver with bright red leather or grey leather and called the RS 60 as you point out with a 3.4 choc engine.

If you want a special 987 maybe go for a 987.2 Spyder or 987.2 Black Edition if you cannot stretch to a Spyder wink

Thanks IMI A

Budget 14k, so all of your recommendations out of budget and has to be auto. I love the colour combo of GT/Cocoa. I plan to fit some 19” black Fuchs and H&R lowering springs. From what I read on this forum I also need to stay away from 3.4’s.

I thought if it was a limited edition it may have got some extra toys. This is the car in question.

Its a nice car but all you need is a small bit of bad luck and that car will suck up a £8000 repair in a flash.

Man maths required smile for budget creep and it will pay you back medium / long term for sure.

I'd personally go for something like this in your shoes in a colour combo you like especially as you want an auto as PDK a step up in terms of enjoyment especially in something sporty like a Boxster. The warranty worth its weight in gold too if you plan to do lots of miles.

Get yourself over to Boxa.net if you haven’t already - much more active.

If you can stretch the budget you should look for a 987.2 with the PDK box, far superior to the previous autos and the gen2 has the new DFI engines which removes the usual engine issues that earlier models suffered with.

Also, the 2009+ cars fall into the cheaper road tax band, so you can use that to help justify the man maths 😁

Yep, no limited edition with that colour combination, but they do look fantastic like that. I just sold my GT silver and cocoa 987 and it got loads of compliments on the colour scheme. The full leather cocoa interior made it a much nicer place to be.
