Just ordered a Logitech g920 for Xbox and pc. Excited to use it since remembering the awful one I had years ago for a ps2.

Anyone else on here race using them?

How sturdy/fixed in place does your chair need to be?

I assume a office chair on wheels is no good.

G290 for me too, chuffed with it but don't really use it much these days. End up mostly working rather than playing games.

I use the playseat challenge, it's been great, folds up and stands on the landing, one thing I will mention about the G29 is the pedals need regular cleaning, or at least mine do, it's an easy job though, it takes about 30mins and needs doing every 3mths or so.

As it stands I have a L shape desk with a monitor in the corner. Seems impractical for the pedals and wheel.

Would it be worth making something or just a new monitor on the straight edge with the office chair chocked? Unsure how to set the height of shifter without a low mounted rail or such.

Me too.

Tried all manner of fixes using my office chair, desk and wooden chocks to keep the pedals still: the playseat is transformative , especially with an oculus rift.

I'm using G29 too. I used G27 until maybe 6 months ago, and upgraded them to G29. Been using this for 3 months now and I'm glad I upgraded my wheel. beer

Wow does this take some getting used too.

Had to go from highly skilled down to novice racer with the wheel. Keep losing the back end on entry into corners.

Edit: Turned abs/traction control/stabilty control back on and things are going much better

G29 / 920 for me too... whichever one is the Xbox one. It replaced a G25 which gave me years of excellent service and probably still would be if it would work on an Xbone.

Any 900 degree steering wheel needs to be secured. With the old half-a-turn-to-full-lock wheels you could get away with balancing it in your lap and using your hands to keep the wheel in place as well as turn it. That won't work with a G920. the wheel needs to be secure without any help from you.

You also don't want the pedals (or chair) to be moving around while you're racing. I think a chair on wheels would be OK for steering as long as the wheel itself is bolted to something solid, but the pedals will be the problem. You need everything including your seat to stay where it is without your help.
