Had some free time at work today and decided to do a few insurance quotes; imagine my surprise when I saw that these two weren't at stupid prices for insurance for me anymore. The Focus is about to go through a large amount of work, welding, painting, suspension all refreshed, so it's safe to say I won't be driving it for a while. I've been running an E46 316i but I recently sold it when it came to my attention that it was the most boring car on the planet, so to cut out a few lines of rambling, which one of these is the better choice?

Impreza: I've had a couple that I absolutely loved driving, bar a few gripes I had with them.

Legacy: Never even been in one, I imagine it's the quicker car, but it's not as good looking as the Impreza wagon, and I'm unsure as to how it would drive compared to one?

Impreza turbo 2000 are great cars, but getting very long in the tooth and many have been thrashed to death. Check for rust, rust and more rust. Especially the rear quarters.

Yeah I'm no stranger to rust, although mine were clean enough. Wouldn't concern me too heavily as long as it was solid underneath. Only concern I ever have with a Subaru is the engine knocking on the way home.
