Okay, so I have a 997 which I love, but my kids are growing alarmingly fast and it's getting a bit tight for them in the back. Is there any more legroom in a 991? They do seem a bit longer......
Approx 100mm longer wheelbase, some of that is in the rear cabin but not all.jakesmith said:
It's a ridiculous squeeze and not very safe
I'd use it as an opportunity to try a Maserati Granturismo for a few years, that's what I did, fantastic car, much more of an event and a looker than a 911 and will take adults in the back with ease. Ferarri 430 derived engine.
Too big for most roads IMO.I'd use it as an opportunity to try a Maserati Granturismo for a few years, that's what I did, fantastic car, much more of an event and a looker than a 911 and will take adults in the back with ease. Ferarri 430 derived engine.
If your general driving roads are dual carriageways/motorways then they are nice cars. Anything different and they are less comfortable.
I ended up going the other way - MGT to 911.

You’re not wrong but fIf your general driving roads are dual carriageways/motorways then they are nice cars. Anything different and they are less comfortable.

k getting little children and car seats in and out of a 911 for a game of soldiers I made the move from 997S to 991GTS for this reason and the difference is definitely useful and noticeable, obviously not limo like in the back but you are going from say 6” of legroom to 9” so 50% increase! Man maths at its best..
My girl has just turned 9 and it was getting too tight back there for her so I figured this would buy me another couple of years of 911 motoring before getting a proper 4 seater!

That is VERY interesting - thank you. Will wander down to the OPC sometime soon and scope it out. My girl has just turned 9 and it was getting too tight back there for her so I figured this would buy me another couple of years of 911 motoring before getting a proper 4 seater!

Keep the 997 and buy a cheap Skoda Octavia vRS, Ford Focus ST or Nissan X-Trail/ Quasqai for family duties.
Don't think my wife would tolerate me buying a third car! I have a 1971 MGB GT also (they don't fit in that either)! The principle is the same, its just the size of the cheques that are different!
