Engine came out today so head can be line bored after camshaft cap broke

Whilst it's out it'll give me a chance to replace the tatty heat resistant cable sleeves (among other things). Anyone recommend a good source or type?

Pulley is now off, but the crank nose doesn't have a Woodruff notch! Of course this means I've now lost the timing marks. A long way off but I assume timing is done per bank, ie TDC on 1 and 2, setup cam for equal overlap on rear lobes per bank (or front lobes at BDC)

I noticed oil residues in the airbox as it was being removed. Is this normal?

I'll probably be asking the forum their advice as I go along and it's not available via search.

The Woodruff key notch may not be obvious as it is behind the oil seal

I have used this stuff from eBay #251436713742

16mm Fire Sleeve Braid Flame Heat Reflective Shield - 5 metre HILFLEX-HRS

To fit it in some places I have removed the plug and then refitted it after feeding the cable through, such as with the Crank Position Sensor

I didn't do so with the Reverse Light Switch cable, and that has melted and shorted

Yes, you time it off TDC of 1 and 2, the only timing mark on the engine is only visible with the timing case off.
