Just had a set of the new Pirelli boots fitted to my bike (Panigale) and after just 600 miles the front is looking very sorry for itself, close to the wear markers and already very “stepped” across the tread lines. This seems very excessive, the previous set managed 1,800 miles but this time the front will be dead in much less than 1k. Pressures are 33 front, 31 rear.

Anything I can do to get more life from these or should I consider a harder, more touring-based tyre instead?

I’m off pirellis for life because most of their tyres have under performed for me so perhaps switch to Michelin instead for a stint?

Have you ended up with the more track orientated supercorsa’s rather than the road ones? The road version is the SP whereas the track version will be SC1/2.

I’ve had problems with high and uneven front wear on pirellis too.

Does seem like unusually high wear rate, I was getting 1500-2000 miles out of SPs for road use.

I went through 1-2 sets of Supercorsa per year on my MV and this year changed to Diablo Rosso Corsa II, the next sports tyre in the Pirelli range, more road orientated. Have not noticed any loss in performance and the rear looks about 1/2 worn 1800 miles in. Happy so far with them.

Thia would be what my money is on. As for other sporty road tyres, I'd look at Dunlop/Conti as I've heard they provide similar grip levels but last longer. Yet to try them though.

I run SC1 front and SC2 rears on my Pani, and I get a few 1000's out of a front easily on the road, trackdays I tend to swap the front every 2nd or 3rd day but it's probably OK.

Seems extremely odd the front is out wearing the rear though, that doesn't sound at all correct to me.

I’ve wore out SP V2 front in less then 1000 miles, but I was doing mostly “canyon” riding, up the hill turns, down the hill turns, the sides wore out to markers fast. Somehow waste for road riding those SPs.

You got pictures you can put up?

I had Supercorsa SP on mine and did 2600 miles. The rear was past the markers on the sides but had maybe 500 in the middle. The front had maybe another 1500 miles but had started stepping

Im 14st without kit and my bikes something like 209kg. It was typically fast round and some German 'ring action

I would definitely say something doesn't sound right there for you
