Are you happy it is not just a loss of power in the dash? Clock is pretty much the only thing in the dash that has a permanent supply.

Yes power to the clock ok, when it worked it was really loud now just a faint click, not available from TVR parts suppliers or breakers.

Hi Bill,

My pre-cat has a non original clock. Other than not saying “TVR” on the face, it is a pretty good match for the other instruments.

It was already fitted before I got the car, but I have a massive file of receipts from previous owners. Do you want me to look through and see if I can find where it came from?

If you are onto instruments, does this mean your project is almost complete?

The clock on pre cats was smaller than all the other instruments and had no TVR logo, the problem is pre cat gauges are fitted flush so the external diameter of the bezel is critical, and yes the car was mot'd last week so is on the road

Maybe mine is original then. I had always assumed that as it was the only instrument not to say “TVR” on it, it had been replaced.

Well done on your MOT. I look forward to seeing it soon.

I'm pretty sure the pre-cat clock is a VDO Quartz-Zeit type, for repair see: https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

The clock was manufactured by Pricol, I dismantled the clock this evening and replaced the capacitors (found some of correct value in my shed) now working lovely as loud as ever, thanks davep.

Hi, I'll use this thread, I'm a new owner of a Griffith 4.3 - sold 2/94 in Germany, manufactured 4/93 according to the VIN. I live in the Czech Republic, so there aren't many parts here, so I'm asking for help. I'm looking for a dashboard clock - it's completely missing from the dashboard. The dashboard is the oldest version, I need this version of the clock:
I don't mind the malfunction.
Many thanks. Karel
