Zafira Tourer boot/tailgate release latch

Whilst attempting to get into my boot (on a 2012 zafira tourer) yesterday afternoon it didn't open (and still doesn't). You can here the latch trying to move when you press the button so I assume the wiring is still ok and it's not a fuse, but the latch itself has gone faulty? Just wondering if anybody's experienced something similar and this is the most likely fault, so the repair will just be swapping the latch out for a new one?

I would imagine what your hearing is the solenoid trying to work but not getting full power likely just a dirty connection on multi plug.
