Best fast drying adhesive for rubber door/boot seals
Discussion
I'm refreshing my Delorean and have a rubber seal that runs around the entire perimeter of the front trunk. The surface I'm trying to adhere the new seal to is flat, but goes around a series of 90 and 180 corners. The rubber will bend to this radius, but has a tendency to kink before the adhesives I've been using have a chance to get a proper hold.
I've tried:
Wurth Bond + Seal black sealant - Takes way to long to set
Araldite 2 Part Epoxy (5 minute) - Doesn't penetrate the rubber at all, and peels off easily when dry.
I've tried using several tapes to hold the seals in place (electric tape, painters tape, parcel tape, duct tape) but none had the strength to hold the door rubber in place.
Sadly I cannot use C-clamps to hold it in place, as the location of the seal is quite far inboard. I've even tried using strong magnets to hold the rubber in place to no avail.
So I think my question is, what is the strongest, fastest, double hard bas*ard glue that will penetrate rubber and stick this bl**dy seal in place?

Make sure the rubber is thoroughly clean and degrease using meths or isopropanol.
Then a cyanoacrylate adhesive (superglue). These bond to rubber and cure very rapidly.
Avoid epoxy and silicones as they don't bond to the rubber and will just peel off.
Thanks. I was degreasing with IPA, but I’ll ditch the epoxy and silicone and go for a super-superglue instead. 👍Then a cyanoacrylate adhesive (superglue). These bond to rubber and cure very rapidly.

Have a look at tigerseal.
Strong enough and weatherproof enough to hold body side trim rubber to panels etc. Sticks quick, but doesn't accept mistakes.
Tigerseal is the only way if you want a long term fix. Gloves & plenty of masking tape to prevent it getting everywhere, although its easily removed with acetone.Strong enough and weatherproof enough to hold body side trim rubber to panels etc. Sticks quick, but doesn't accept mistakes.
