Supercar Whistle Blower

You got a link to whatever this is about ?
Link below. Understand ’Supercarwhistleblower’ frustration regarding GT allocations, but not sure what it’ll achieve to be honest. Don’t think Porsche UK or the OPC network really give much of a toss at what appears to be common knowledge/practice these days across the network.

Saw this earlier, it will be interesting to see if this goes anywhere. I suspect it will fizzle out and the world of inter-dealer Porsche flipping will continue.
In other news, there’s new evidence that the world is flat.

+1 not sure why people fuss so much when Porsche’s back catalogue so good. It’s ego.The only real issue with Porsche’s current practices re GT allocation is there is a basic moral convention that many people with a good moral compass believe everyone should be treated the same. The current practice of buy as many cars as poss and be very nice to your OPC to have a chance is verging on bribery if you really pick it apart. In fact I have little doubt that more than a few dealers have taken brown paper bags round the back.
I’ll have a modded 993 Carrera RS pls. Something like this one where the old owner took a plasma cutter to the original panels to put those GT2 arches on

Walked passed a new GT3 yesterday. Didn’t look twice at it. Lovely car but what’s all the fuss about? Maybe I need to drive one...
Uff that is a good looking little car
Have no real interest in owning one of the new Porsches, like reading about them but that is about it / and am sure they are very competent. Each to their own.
A 996 RS (or maybe 997 RS) would probably tempt me the most and I can just go out and buy one of those without any hassle.
All this moaning about allocations by grown (and presumably successful) individuals is a bit weird - if you really want one to own long term, then paying above list can’t be that big of an issue (or waiting until the next model comes out 6-12 months down the line and picking up a lightly used one then at close to list)

t when compared to the modern GT and hyper cars. All this talk about the past and how everything was better IMO is Bo**oX. I bought my first Porsche in 1985 and none of them have been better than the current ones,Soz and all that, just saying. I saw a 993 TARGA for about £85k the other day,it was an average car when I owned one, it’s still average now and even older,£85k you kidding
OK so you want an old car then buy an old car but you can’t start quoting it’s actually better than the newer stuff! I find the word more involving generally equates to more frustrating with older cars, involving = driving around problems which I don’t find fun

thing is you are not buying a modern RS to have a fun weekend blat down a B road an MX5 will do that job better.

So it does make one wonder what camp people are in, showing off at car parks in shiny cars or driving. I guess a bit of both.
I am going off my SCD ownership, the meets are a cock fest, it's just you get to goto places other wise not possible.
best modern porkers are 997.2 and 987.2 if you like driving over car parks and don't want a classic.
but EPS, PDK, ptv, ediffs, PASM etc etc can all do one, if that's better there is no future in Porsche for the driver.
I am switching brands while I am still young enough to fit in a Lotus.
I love my GT3 engine, and I also like a bit of showing off, but my 987.2 Boxster is more fun to drive.

The 6RS is a brilliant car. Loved it when I tried it on track. Still doing my best to justify yet another GT car given how little I am around to drive them. On the other hand, these machines are last of an era of manuals with high revving NA race based engines. Need to work harder on my man math, i guessIf they are flippers he’s sort of f****d them. Either they keep a car they don’t want (possibly can’t afford) or they sell and have everyone say “ah, he was right”
It was notable that the second bloke (bald one) - putting aside the apparent threat of paid-for violence, which made me think it ironic that he finished the video saying “be a f....g man” - didn’t actually state that he was planning to keep the car. Just that him and his supplier “didn’t give a f*#k” (the evidence suggests otherwise)

t box,it will be sold as you just sit there on the road, honey moon period over and now getting boring, now looking at a ruf or something special with more driver involvment and no matching air vents!
