If you drive anywhere in Central Scotland, there's a fair chance that "Crianlarich" appears on many road signs - sometimes it appears that all roads lead there. However, when you get there you find that this apparently bustling metropolis is in fact a small village with a population of...195.

Are there any other UK destinations where the number of times they appear on road signs is out of all proportion to their actual size?

Lots of signs leading the way to Araf in Wales. yes

(If the wiki is to be believed, I think a historically popular PH meme is due about now)

Traeth also seems a popular place in Wales, usually when you're driving near the coast, no idea what that is all about confused

Drive around the Helford area down in Cornwall (between Falmouth and Helston) and you will see a never ending stream of signs for Gweek (or Constantine).

It appears to be twinned-town with Slow in England as well. The are lots of signs to Slow in England also, never been, but presume it is in the South as up here in the North the signs say "Slow Down".

Many years ago my aunt spent the best part of an afternoon driving around Wales looking for Castle Castell.

But at least you know how far you are from the Green Welly, I always used to stop there before I moved up here.

Dalton in the Scottish Borders between Annan and Dumfries - tiny place, 20houses, 1 pub, 1 church and a village hall - signposted from miles and miles all round the area much more than legitimate large towns.

Story many many years ago about the old lady passenger asking when they were going to actually get to "Lay By".

Most roads in the highlands go through Crainlarich, certainly the road from Glasgow to Fort William does and i think if you turn right in the village that takes you off towards the Cairngorms.
Random fact for you, most railway journeys in the Highlands go through their too.
