Nobody really needs to be able to do half the pointless stuff that we see others do but don't you sometimes think "I wish I could do that" for no practical or rational reason other than "why not?"

For example, I can't do that really loud whistle that some have the ability to do. I don't need to be able to do it but the fact I can't means I just wish I could.

Nor can I balance a spinning ball on my fingertips like a basketball player.

I wish I could juggle! I probably could with practice but never seem to find the time to.

That's exactly what I was going to post. The loud whistle with your fingers thing.

I can do the load whistle thing with my fingers, but some can do it without fingers - I would love to be able to do that!

Taught myself to juggle 20 years ago, took a good few hours, then it suddenly clicks and is easy after that.

I have a unicycle, but can I ride the blooming thing? No I can't - wish I could! Oh, and wheelies on a normal bike, never mastered that.

Crack an egg without breaking the yolk or getting shell in it. It's always one or the other or both.

I wish most people could just do basic stuff, like sharpening a pencil or changing a fuse or wiring a plug or even just checking oil and tyre pressures the amount of folk who are utterly clueless about basic stuff is scary,

Many years ago after a night out I woke up with the usual "what did I do last night feeling". Very quickly I remembered watching a 30 minute video on how to juggle at 2AM. I also recalled that, knowing there was not a chance in hell of me actually juggling in my drunken stupor I just sat and stared.

I got out of bed and tried.........and I actually could juggle!

My attempts at learning quantum physics in the same manner have not been as successful.

When I was younger I always wanted to be able to do that thing where people seem to effortlessly spin a pen around their fingers from one side of the hand to the other.

Never wanted to do it so much I could be arsed to put in the practice though hehe

Crack eggs one handed.

Not a pointless skill, just to go off topic, but one thing I cannot do is sing in tune, it's like a tone deaf cat's chorus.

I can spin basketballs, shuffle cards and juggle but I can't whistle.

Not pointless but I do wish I was an expert pianist, it would be fun to play the pianos at train stations like a professional and then just disappear.

Table magic / illusions. Be able to do a really good bunny hop (like a peddle version of Dougie Lampkin) .

I can juggle, and am quite good with a yoyo, which took my wife a bit by surprise (they were handing them out on the Jet stand at the Silverstone Classic as couple of years ago) as I haven't played with one since I was about 13.
