The offside rear light on my 2007 V8V has partially failed with both the side and brake lights working but much dimmer than they should be. When I bought the car 4 years ago, there was a little water in the light but that dried out and has never come back. Probably because I seldom use the car in the rain and it lives in a garage when not in use. Replacement units are very expensive and although eBay offers several at a saving, they are still not cheap and who knows if they are also on the way out.
Does anyone out there know if there is a way of refurbishing failed units that is cheaper than replacing with a second hand one that could fail at any time? Thanks G

Have a look on the front page Gareth, 'Frequently Asked Questions'.

The firm listed for repairs to the LEDs in the headlights, has been used by a few on here. If they can deal with the headlight units, I guess they can also help with the rear lights.

Just been through that maze recently myself. New lights £815 plus vat each. Refurb with audi stylet ligths £1500 the pair. Second hand working anywhere between £300 and £600. Secondhand not working £150.

There is a thread of how to split the lenses from the backing then I suppose an electrician could remove the parts/ refurbish. I did rhis at £120 a ljght but it failed a year later.

I plumped for a second hand one from Poland and it worked a treat (eBay £315 inc p&p)

For my 2006, a clear light set was only just more than a single light (from Aston). I bought from an independent parts guy who charged £950 for the entire light set, and took my one working light as part ex off that figure.

Similar issue here. Spoke to IED and they said they were struggling to get the rears sorted reliably.
An upgrade (changes all to led etc) was suggested on Facebook which Divanatech do. In the end have bought a clear set from fleabay and may yet get the old ones fixed!

Thanks all. Some good ideas there already. Food for thought!
