I've recently bought a late 997 and it wil probably see some track days.
I won't be modifyin the car (under warranty).
Do the track day people run standard tyre pressures or lower/higher?

Any info would be appreciated.

The tyre pressures will increase dramatically on track and you will need to drop them to the normal operating window. Also beware of brake fade!

Yep, brakes will be your biggest problem. Upgraded pads at least definitely worth fitting.

I suggest you takes things easy to start with, feel your way around and gradually increase the pace, don't be tempted to chase whoever overtakes you, it is very easy to overdrive the car and that does not give you fast times, start off by keeping it smooth get the lines right and take some tuition.
If you push hard from the off you can easily find it does not end well cry

The tyres are Piliot Sports
235/35 19 front and 295/30 19 rear.

I've been doing track days for quite a few years, always in Caterhams or Elises where there is a wealth of information available on pressures etc available,i'd like to find it for 911s

You adjust the tyre pressure as you go. A few laps and adjust. Adjust again once you start pushing.

The below a must if you want to have some fun.

1. Brakes (discs,pads,fluid,lines)
2. Tyres - MPSS
3. Geo

Tons of other stuff I done to my 997.2 GT3.
