Hi,

I hope that somebody can help.
I want to replace my steering wheel in a V8VS (2013) with a steering wheel new shape from a Rapide, see picture below.
Is it possible wothout any problems? Are the swiches left and right changeable easily?

Regards
Torsten

Torsten

easiest way is to get the current wheel remade to that shape (and cheapest to)

If you need a contact I can provide a guy in Poland who has done 5 wheels for me & I have one to send to him this week for my new V12

send me an email if you want his details

costs about 300-400 euro to have it remade and you know all the buttons will work

I recently swapped my 2006 Vantage steering wheel to a Vanquish S type, see below.

Although it physically fitted and the horn works (minimum requirement for MOT pass) the cruise controls/nor would the bluetooth work (If mine had been equipped to do so).

This is due to the electrical systems changing at some point (Not sure when). The old style (probably pre dating your car) was called 'Spanish Oak' and now I think it is just 'Bosch' electronics.

On that basis, I am assuming your wheel will physically be interchangeable and you should get functionality.

Good luck !! And if doing it yourself, be careful with the airbag wiring, that's a bomb waiting to go off if you don't disconnect the battery and/or wait 10 minutes for shut down.

Do feel a significant difference compared to the oem wheel? Is it better handling with these edges around? Or is it mostly optical changes?

The switches are from the Vantage wheel, the Vanquish switches do not work.
Changing the switches is no problem, everything fits.
