I heard a useful expression recently to express the minimum level of ability you need to make a go of something. Lower than that, forget it. Above it, if everything else is OK you have a chance though obviously the further above the better.

It might apply to language ability, social skills, hand eye coordination, height (for basketball players), all depending on what you are hoping to do.

I think the expression was something like 'the Fenton line' but I can't remember, I don't even know what to google for it.

Any suggestions?

Enterprise capability.....maybe!

There is also "The Medoza line" but that is an American term relating to baseball.
It is a batting stat that most prefer to be above.
