Did I get a parking ticket?

The usual story: You pull up in a ‘Loading Only’ bay on a street because there is nowhere else to park, and you run into one shop to collect something and won’t be more than 2 minutes.

Of course the split second you leave the car, a traffic warden removed his invisibility cloak and starts writing you up.

I was walking back to the car and saw the warden stop at my vehicle, and start tapping things into his computer.

I then jumped in the car and drove off as he was mid-typing.

So... place bets now.

Ticket or no ticket? In the post?

I’m bang to rights and I’ll pay it, just curious!

haha, sadly most areas have "don't have to slap it on the car" rules to prevent wardens ending up over the bonnet of a fleeing miscreant!

Probably nothing - the ones I spoke to count 5 min of no sign of loading as misuse of the bay.

In my experience, such parking misdemeanours would also feature a picture of the offending vehicle inc registration plate.

If they have that... I’d reckon you’ll probably get a ticket in the post.

It's not an old wives tale.

Some Councils have the rule in place if it's not attached to the car it's not valid. I know as I successfully challenged a ticket as it wasn't attached
