More engine bay and engine work today. Next week is the bit I'm looking forward to, removing the timing cover and it's bearings which has been the source of my noise.

Cylinder head will be sent in July to HT Howard to line bore and make a new camshaft cap after number 3 o/s split in 2. Couldn't get Jason's caps to get under 4 thou. So new cam and line bore is a grand, could have got a used head for the same price but I'd rather work with what I know.

Anyway, there wasn't a woodruff key on the crank nose despite having a pulley mad. Air con did work but perhaps it was slipping under load I'm hoping so, may get cooler, but I doubt it.

Clutch and flywheel are off. Will measure thickness on friction plate and flywheel and check back here for opinion on if it's ok. First thoughts are it's ok.

Drilled out side heat shield rivets and will need new ones. Any reliable sources? Bulk head shield would be good to do with the access I have. (Edit: found a well known source https://chimaerapartsonline.co.uk/product/inner-wi...

Having the engine mounts, side mount brackets, main undershield (sump), water heater rails powder coated.

Just wondered if people changed the colour of their timing cover, side water rails, cam covers etc. I'm really bad at matching colours (but I'm married so its ok smile ) like horrendous.

I have a blue car and black cam, timing cover. Would rather make one trip to the powder coaters so any colour combos let me know.....
