CBD Hemp Flowers - Legal ? Or not...

Client of ours operates in the CBD sector. They sell oils vape additive and CBD Hemp Flowers. Now I know CBD is everywhere, holland and barrett selling oil for example but the hemp flowers look just like real cannabis! They smell very similar and I assume taste similar too.
We are seeing reports of some shops being raided and police seizing these hemp flowers but cannot find categorically whether they are illegal or not. Police could be raiding suspecting other illegal activities we are not sure.
We need to be careful working for them if they are breaking a law here.....
Any clarification from a police officer or solicitor in relation to this? Seems a real grey area!

I work with one of the largest growers in the UK. We have a Grow Licence from the Home Office and it is a minefield. It is a fledgeling industry in the UK and the US, Canada and most of Europe are way more advanced in this industry.We are seeing reports of some shops being raided and police seizing these hemp flowers but cannot find categorically whether they are illegal or not. The important thing in the UK is that the Hemp grown must be on the EU Approved List and must be <0.2 THC. There are about 57 approved strains buy more hybrid strains are being created all the time.
Like all these sorts of industries, if a corner can be cut, it is. The EU is so highly regulated in this space that it opens the door for unscrupulous individuals to profiteer from it.
Guessing, from experience, it seems like most of the raids are linked to high THC and GMP infractions.

So from what you are saying if they comply with the above then they are in fact Legal? I've seen paperwork from our client with various lab tests on their products stating <0.2% THC but I'm still sceptical. Seems a VERY grey area right now and the police/government need to be more clear and probably update the legislation surrounding drugs in general.
Maybe the raids are down to police having intelligence that illegal products are being sold side by side with these that do comply with EU regs but there seems to be nothing in the news.
I think for the timebeing we will continue working with them as this sector with the right help could expand considerably.
