Cigar lighter has gone inside armrest.flat battery

Here's a bugger.

The battery has gone flat, I knew I should have taken the chim out in the rain for a run...

Anyhow, I have got an intelligent trickle charger which re-chrges the battery through the cigar lighter.

So I go and inset the plug into the cigar lighter, which promptly disappears into the armrest.

So I can't retrieve it.

How do I get the door arm rest off? I don't have ashtrays in the doors, which I understand normally have screws behind. Any ideas?

I have resolved to buy the bible tomorrow, but in the meantime any help hugely appreciated.

Take the speaker out and get your arm in. Wear long sleeves to avoid cutting yourselve or better still get somebody else to put their arm in.

Tried that Dave - found one nut but can't find any more.... any ideas?

You're not trying hard enough or your arm isn't long enough.
The other bolt is about 4mm away from the furthest point at which you can reach. (Normal for TVR)

As a temp measure, if you get a decent set of tweezers, you should be able to retrieve part of the cigar lighter from the hole. You can then plug in your trickle charger to this part.

I had exactly the same thing happen to me and there was no way I could get my arm in to undo the furthest nut towards the lock. Fortunately it was going in for a replacement headlamp in a couple of days and they did it for me. They said that you need thin arms and to know where the nuts are located as you obviously have to work blind. Only charged me an hours labour and £6 for a new lighter from memory. Well worth the money if you can get her moving.
Tried magnets and everything to retreive it without taking the panel off, but nothing worked. I couldn't find anything to use to be able to get a grip to be able to pull it through.
