Afternoon all,

I need an o-ring for a fuel pressure regulator; 7.95mm ID x 2.95mm CS (this is as measured at the regulator groove, so aprox 7.5 x 3mm o-ring size) and I'm having a nightmare finding somewhere to buy a single one with next day delivery (hardly surprising I suppose).

I may be overthinking this by hunting for a specific material and making life hard for myself?

Anyone got any ideas?

Cheers

1. Look for the specific o-ring for the specific purpose, not just a generic |O-ring.

2. Ask around (FYI I have an o-ring kit which I bought for under £10 a few years ago to cover exactly situations like this) & someone may have a kit near you.

Plenty of Oring stockists online these days, eg:

https://www.bearingboys.co.uk/Orings-1050-c

Be careful with Orings for fuel systems, you may need a decent material grade ring to prevent degredation from the volatile fractions in modern fuels (esp E-85 etc!) If the original ring wasn't black, that's usually a give away!

So it's an 8mm ID o-ring you need with 3mm thick ?

I've always been able to find any o-ring on ebay. And why buy 1...often sellers are selling 10 very cheap. If you need one now...why ? so buy spares.

As for next day....sadly that seems a rarity with ebay stuff now.

I think most of mine have come from here though

Thanks for the pointers.

The metric Nitrile o-ring kit from Screwfix for £12 actually has the exact size required and is stated for use with petrol, oil etc. so should be good.

There are a couple of sizes of injector o-ring which are close enough to be confused, but not interchangeable. I expect other fuel system components are similar. Make sure you get the right part. If in doubt, I suggest you buy through one of the suppliers of injector rebuild kits. There are many of them on the bay.
