There is another anklebiter on the way in our household, which means we are going to have three under five years old.
I'm surprised to see our old V70 won't fit 3 carseats in the back. Shame because it is a trusty old banger I was hoping to get another couple of years out of. As it is a shed by any cost criteria I wouldn't want to buy a multimac bench type thing, as the car might take an earlier trip to the knacker's yard.
I'm after a car that would fit 3 carseats, and leave a decent boot. It is not the type of car I have thought about in the past so don't know where to start. It will be driven by my wife the vast majority of the time so I don't care about handling/performance. Reliability and space most important. I'm slightly suspicious of automatics at this end of the market, but not a dealer breaker. About 15k miles a year.
Thanks in advance for any advice on where to start looking!

Ford S-Max?

3 separate rears seats with isofix, big boot, good NCAP rating and decent to drive.

What's your budget?

ETA - Doh, just saw the thread title again..

Petrol

Both 7 seaters so have the option of taking friends/grandparents along also.

Feel your pain smile

Having hit that crossroads in life 18 months ago and having to give the wife's Cupra up, the 3 across the back is a right pain, especially as now they need seats till they are pretty much 18!!!

We opted to lease a new 5008 as that has the 3 seats, but my money would be on an S Max, my BIL just traded his 60 plate Full ford history into We buy any car for £6500!! If only you had been looking last week, it was the titanium model too and they had had it from new it only had 35k on the clock.

Edit thought you said £6k not £5k which means you still couldn't have had it last week!!

FRV, Picasso, Touran, S-max and Galaxy, most of the others have a thin middle seat.

This looks like a bargain if it all checks out.

They seem to go for less than the S Max but are huge inside with better 3rd row seats which will be useful if you need to take friends/grand parents with you.

These must be like a transit van with the seats down.

I have to say OP this particular Galaxy seems a bit of a no brainer it has great spec (leather is much easier to clean ice cream etc off) & you're also getting a newer car.
