Police speed gun advise please

So I was driving my home from her hospital appointment today and was just driving not paying much attention to my speedo. its a 30mph road and as you come down the hill you go back up a steep one again immediatley so no one ever does exactly 30 as you accelerate to go back up the hill.

Sorry if Im blabbing, but on the top of the hill was a policeman with a gun, when i saw him slowed right down but i reckon I was doing 35, 40 max. When I drove passed the police man he was walking went into the side road and he got into his police van.

Im panicking that im going to get a ticket he may have got me before i even saw when I was coming down the hill. He was on the other side of the road to me and he was alone. any advice

Assuming you are the registered keeper you will have a sticky 14 day wait to see if anything comes in the post. If it's a company car it could take far longer.

no I am not the registered keeper but they live in the same address

If it was a police officer with a hand held device I'm pretty sure you would have been stopped at the scene and given caution.

Don't panic, assuming you haven't done one in the last 3 years, you would most certainly be offered an awareness course for that speed

Why the panic? All you've done is drive a little faster than the number on a road sign and possibly been caught. It's an "Oh sod it..." moment, nothing more.
