Does anyone know where I can get a door lock rod retainer for my SEAC please? Its the little, white plastic fitting which connects the rod from the external door handle to the rod from the door latch - may have a part no along the line of TVR 026U 078A. Mine has disintegrated so I can't open the door from inside the car.

I have tried TVR Parts and Richard Thorpe believes it could be from a Ford Capri, but no luck so far. I have acquired a few random ones and they're either two small for the hole in the latch fitting or too big to grip the rod.

Thanks

Hi Adrian
I have a similar problem with my 280i FHC. The door locks using the pop up button thing but not with the key. It has been repaired with a small tie rap in the past. Am I looking for the same part and do you have more than one of them available ?
Thanks in anticipation.

I have a 25 box of the OE items...BUT, I have found over the last 40 years as they were fitted to TVR's from mid '76 (and have various part numbers relating to M Series through every car model to 2004) they go brittle and break.
I have a replacement that has an integral 'O ring shock absorber', that I have been using for the last 15 years and direct replaced the OE items on my 280DH during the winter, whilst I was in there refurbishing the door handles AND matching the ignition key to the door locks (a pet hate of mine to have 3 keys that are all different). PM me with your address details. A@

Adrian do you want a fresh supply too? I think I got them from Alibaba, I can look out the supplier if you like. I just took a punt and they seem to be the correct dimensions just about.

@penny - that's the wedgefest aka BBWF...

Thanks Adam , but no, the original (Ford) ones have lasted since the mid 90's (a box of 50 and 25 left) they are for the serious stickler for OE...the ones I have used for the last however many years...lets say, the O rings cost more per 100 than the clips per 100, and I have maybe 100 that will last me a lifetime. I have been gifting them away with the door lock/handle rebuilds. A@

Yes I thought this, just in case you didn't get it.....I thought about the film "A Fist Full Of Dollars" then thought about you having many obscure clips and came up with....................... "A Fest Full Of Dollars"

Sorry and all that, I know I've gone a touch off topic
I could have typed a "Fist Full Of Clips" but........????

Thanks - that's exactly how I got it through the MOT last year, but the heavy-handed garage obviously squeezed the door handle too hard and broke it subsequently.

Ahh - NOW I get it...

As one pound is only one dollar, you must be referring to Mr. Trump's fist ;^)

Hi Adrian

don't know if its me but I can't P/M you via P/H.

I've also sent a P/M on TVRCC (don't know when your membership expires). I don't do facebook so can't use your P/H link.

You are currently involved with a couple of people I know well with existing TVR work.

I hope that we can make an arrangement to allow me to remedy my Tasmin problem. I'm in France until end Sept but I can arrange payment.

You can P/M me via P/H if you wish.

Just tried these out and they fit a treat...

Top tip for keeping a few spares handy as well, I know for a fact the next time I want some of these they will be hidden sonewhere in the garage, this way they will be right to hand!

I have another fresh batch in from China, seems they are snapping left right and centre. Well, nearside and offside, anyway! PM for details.
