Grand vitara has 2 catalytic converters?

Hi guys

My gf’s 07 2.0 petrol grand vitara is failing the emissions test, we changed the lambda sensor (the one that had a fault code on it) but the mechanic is now saying it needs a new cat, but which one? Do I have to change both?

I am pretty sure you will only have 1 on that engine, I could be wrong but it would be very unusual for a 4-pot to have 2.

Yep, 2 cat system on those!

Defo 2 on it, one close coupled cat and one underfloor cat, this could get expensive!
