Is this pure speculation, or is there actually any evidence of such a thing?

It's called the 718-6 (a la 914/6), not Touring, mules exist and it's coming according to rumours. It may or may not replace the current four pot GTS and will have a 380ish BHP version of the GT4/Spyder engine. It's not a GT car, just an engine variant of the regular 718.

Interesting!

With the manual transmission roll back on GT3s and now the possibility of this, it seems that Porsche either really listen to what people want, are masters of marketing or more likely both.

The "718-6" only exists in Twinfan's mind so far... Good luck buddy...

We will see...

There are numerous mules in existence plus threads on various forums, and several folk on here have mentioned chats with their OPC who have discussed the cars with them.

I'm just repeating their info.

Thanks cmoose, it's the usual Schmed garbage that I'm correcting factually but ignoring the personal attacks. I'd suggest other people do the same beer

Would agree with the above, the ones who have followed the new gt4 4.0 closely would of also
been aware of the 718 - 6 test mule. I wonder if that will get the new 4.0 as well?

Yes, it will get the 4.0 but detuned as I said. On another thread a PHer has been told they're the new 718 GTS coming in 2020.

I’ve had it confirmed by two people at Porsche and my dealer that a revised 718 GTS with detuned 4.0 6 cylinder engine from the GT4 will be launched before the end of the year.

Makes sense, but it really does say that Porsche think the F4T is inferior to a NASP six. 718 owners won't be impressed.

You do realise when you buy a car you don't have to keep it forever right .. If this maintains the significant performance improvement the 718 has over the old car then there is no reason why 718 owners wouldn't be interested

Two things if this is true:
- 718 4 cylinder cars second hand value will be destroyed, particularly the GTS.
981 GTS is destined to become a legend - ‘The Car so Good - they had to bring it back!!’

How do you like them apples Schmed?

Maybe instead of having a go at Schmed you should try to address your obvious inferiority complex. You and a few others on this forum are embarrassing
