eye-watering ticket prices at Silverstone = £300 plus

I know its a week before the event but I am not sure how people can justify paying such huge ticket prices, was genuinely surprised to see its over £300 per ticket!
I think the justification is that they need to make a profit, yet struggle to do so, even at those prices. The fault lies with the owners of F1. Another way of looking at it is that the race is often a sell-out. Even if their costs were lower, why should they not charge the going price?
When I had all my kids at home, I would go on the Friday, just to be around the cars and people. Then I made it to Saturday for qually, with an occasional race day thrown in.
The charge is a one off looked at on a yearly basis. Less than £1 a day for the major car race in this country.

?????? the race only lasts 2 hours so we’ll done for getting the price down to £1 a day. Man maths at their very very best. As Derek Smith says, it's because of the cost of the deal with F1 - not just the headline price, but the fact that revenue trackside advertising and the sponsorship of the race also goes to F1. The BRDC are left with ticket sales and the sale of concession stands to generate the revenue to pay those fees and the cost of running the event.

There's a lot more on than just an F1 race but judging by the way the majority of the crowd reacted when I went last you would think that there was only one race and one driver. Places serving beer must be rammed when the F1 race isn't on.....Seems to be the going rate - I looked at tickets for the US, Singapore and Spa - for decent seats the starting price for everything was around £300pp; you could get a little cheaper if you wanted lower grade seats (like mid-way on a straight) or GA. I don't recall the exact prices we paid for Canada, Monza or Japan but I don't recall them being that high. Guess it depends on the popularity of the event also.
