pay or not to pay

well, just got a letter from the German police to inform me that I was 7km over the limit on a recent trip to Bavaria they are asking for 10 euros, I am astonished that they have sent this to me as it must have cost more to process and post this,
Can they enforce this as it seems hardly worth the trouble to pay.
Is it the War or Brexit !!

I believe they have contingency measures in place if you don’t pay. It’s been a while since they’ve had to use them, but the plans for Operation Sea Lion just need a bit of a dust off if required... Is it the War or Brexit

There is a pan-european agreement to share keeper details across borders, but currently there is no efficient method to enforce them across borders.Our fleet is receiving about 30 a week which we are transferring liability on.
I got one for Germany last year, was a similar transgression, with a fine of 20 euro. I paid it. Would have been easier if they took a credit card or another method of payment rather than bank transfer, as I had to get a mate with an EU bank account to do it for me. An IBAN transfer would have cost me more than the fine.

No brainer for me - at 10 euros just pay it. If there is one country I would expect to ensure your file is kept open and that you risk being stopped if going back, it is Germany.
BUT and maybe someone knows, could it be the German admin machine (or any EU country to be fair) somehow gets that on relevant files/data bases here, making you liable to being done for avoiding a material fact if you do not declare you were fined for speeding in Germany to your insurers?

Their meticulous record-keeping has been somewhat legendary over the years although it hasn't always worked out in their favour...

Germany will follow it up. They did with mine.
Not personally mine! They just all came in the post today for the fleet that I help manage. That amount would normally come in over a week or two from France, but they seem to have saved them all up for some reason. Germany will follow it up. They did with mine.
I've not checked the dates or locations, but it would not surprise me if a fair chunk of these were Le Mans related.

They fine you for driving an Audi?Seriously though, Perth is one of the better states for speeding in Australia. other states have multi hundred AU$ fines for 0-9 KPH (less than 6 MPH) over. Victoria is $207 for the same bracket and no such thing as a speed awareness course either.
