Going to have to get some help in, mainly admin and goods in/out. Part time will be enough.

Now, what I fear may complicate things is that I’m going to be out more on sales stuff meaning they’ll be in the office/workshop alone.

I have a security company that responds to the alarm so i’m thinking ‘panic tag’, locked door with remote release and camera buzzer?

You guys any guidance to share?

What sort of good are coming in and out? And to who - general public?
Depending on the set up of the business there’s lots of options out there and lots of lone workers with varying levels of security, so it depends whats needed.

It is a bit of ‘trade counter’ so you could say general public, delivery/collection drivers etc.

Is it the sort of place where people will pop in to see if you have stock or call/order online first?
What sort of unexpected footfall do you have daily and what sort of % of sales do they generate?
What are the biggest security concerns? Shoplifting/burglary/robbery?
What sort of access is there to counter/workshop?

If you’re low turnover for ‘walk ins’ on the counter, I’d keep the main door locked with a bell/buzzer and a clear sign that someone’s in.
If you’re slightly higher I’d have a main door unlocked with access to the (unstocked/till-less) counter. If it’s high it probably needs to be manned.

The lone working aspect doesn’t really come into it unless it’s the type of place you’d expect higher staffing. If I go to screwfix, I expect more than one staff. If I go to ‘bobs hardware’ I’ll probably just expect Bob.
