Talking very quickly

Apologies if this is a well known symptom.

Is talking very quickly and hyper activity a symptom of cocaine abuse ?.

I have done the standard search on Google doctor and couldnt find a definitive answer

or too much sugar
or too many e numbers

It is possible of marching powder abuse as well as whole host of other things as well.

Possibly also anxiety.

People in an uncomfortable state can talk incredibly quickly as they are currently fuelled on adrenalin and nerves.

Depends what their normal demeanour is like, could be any number of things.

Thanks all, this is from the son of a friend of mine. He has lost all interest in a business that he has started, has become hyper and talks very quickly and often, his father is thinking that his boy is doing coke but has no other evidence.

My cousin has started doing this due to anxiety.

To round this out, the young man has a problem with drugs, a criminal gang came looking for his supply, then raided his premises and beat him up, warned him that if he went to the police then they would be back.

He cannot cope with the worry of them coming back, business is up for sale for less money than he has invested.

Edit: Spoke to his father last night, the issue wasnt so much robbery as the gang wanted the young man to distribute their drugs and he refused, he then got beaten up and his stock stolen.
