I saw a cream Audi A3 a couple of days back that had very dark smoke tinting on the plates that meant I couldn't read them even when on top of them. So that may work but it was ugly, obvious and illegal.

Not to forget that for some reason, there are unlimited funds available to trace the car even without the number plate clearly visible so a PCOJ charge can be brought.

The only "cheap" way to avoid some of the fines is to have no front plate as that carries no points and the risk of getting stopped for that is not that big.

Any cheap paint spraycan should cover up the flash and lens unit on a speed camera nicely. It might take you a while to do all of the cameras in the country though.

If you spray the paint over the camera lenses one might think it would hinder their operation.

There's some kind of tape I think... I remember watching an old episode of Police Interceptors or similar were they pulled a car who'd 'modified' some of the characters in his plate to make it read something else.

Where you can get that from and why you would risk it, I don't know...

Get the French to do it, it didn't take them too long earlier this year to knock out 80% of cash cameras.

Yeh that worked well...they now use unmarked vans with front and rear cameras. So now, instead of having known cameras that were visible to anyone with a modicum of sense, they can now pop up anywhere and spot you from hundreds of yards away.

Years ago there was; but cameras have got better so I'm sure the answer is no. . . . there maybe a slim chance on a motorbike but not a car/van

I would have though the only sure fire way to avoid detection in a car is to have the same type of revolving plates James Bond had back yonder.

Got to remember to have the fake one in place before any speed traps though so for all that faffing about it might be easier just to slow down.

Bikers can ask their passenger to put their hand over the plate as you bomb past the camera. Bit risky if you do 90 mph and they miss the plate, though.

Be careful out there.

I do remember a few years ago returning from Le Mans. We were sat at the French side ferry port waiting area watching a couple of chaps nonchalantly unscrewing and swapping their front and rear plates before boarding. A red F355, as I remember. Following our multiple tickets that arrived a couple of months ago post Angouleme last Sept for our group, it is possibly a sensible precaution.
This would seem to be the most effective method to fool the cameras. Even stranger was that no one even seemed to care or notice.

Number plate with and LCD to change say an F to an E (and back) at the flick of a switch ? Better still dont speed is quite a good method 🤣

I did wonder; If one was to drill out the rear of a plate to mount a number of SMD IR LEDs, and then cover these with tint film so the exterior appearence of the plate is up to scratch for all but the closest of examinations, would it be possible to "Dazzle" a camera, especially at night?

I imagine the greatest challenge would be the intensity of light needed.

Alterntatively, there are plenty of plate holders with roller blinds / that fold up on Ebay for 15 quid, wouldn't want to be seen with one though
