Radiator Cowling
Discussion
Hi Colin
The radiator was from a classic Range rover classic Non-A/C...just looked for the shrouds but didnt find any...You might be able to retro fit something but I should imagine your front spoiler will need to come off...

Hi Colin
The flaps go on the cowling...if you do not have that then there is no point...they open whilst you are moving to create an airflow and close when stationery so the fans are more efficient...I would just update the fans to Kenlowes and check the switching temps of thermostat etc...you could put an inline fan temperature control switch, which turn fans on, ranging anything from 75-85 on....80 on and 90 off is about right for a RV8 3.5, there are a few option there..I would by-pass the otter switch and use something like this...

and have a manual switch just in case...
Hope this helps

I have a question / concern with your picture of the new fan set up you’re using (and if it’s already installed on another car and all is ok then I’m totally wrong).
Fans are required when there is insufficient airflow (forward motion “usually”). When the traffic clears and the airflow returns the fans turn off.
As the car moves faster and the airflow increases beyond what can pass through the fan shrouding (some cars) have rubber flappers/doors that allow flow through the radiator but around fans. My thought would be that from what I see (unless it’s mounted like this on another v8 car) that this may limit airflow at speed. Just a thought.
