Long story cut short. My FIL had a stroke, he was very lucky. Only lasting damage is some numbness in his hand and foot. He can walk, talk and function perfectly normally.

He was an occasional biker and loved going out on his Triumph Street Triple, however he's concerned that his right foot will fall off the peg. It's not a lack of movement, more a lack of feeling in the foot that's the problem.

Does anyone know if there's such a thing as a toe cup that he could use? Or any companies that specialise in adapting motorbikes for the less abled?

Thanks!

Not trying to put off here, I'd like to see your FIL continue riding. But surely a lack of feeling in the right foot is going to effect how hard he's pressing the rear brake? I'm sure there's some companies that do conversions that drive both front and back brakes from the front lever. I'm sure some sort of footpeg edging could be easily created/bought to ensure his foot stays on the peg.

I'd just knock something up with velcro and webbing. As a cyclist who rides 'clipped in', he needs to be able to get his leg off the peg quickly, trust me on this hehe

This might be a daft idea, but before exploring expensive options, Velcro?

It's surprisingly hardy stuff.

ETA: Beaten to it.

Ergo it's a good idea smile My TVR numberplate is held on with Velcro, it's good enough to keep it in place at 150+

And makes it easy to remove your plates if you decide to drive like a lunatic!

Absolutely no need to ever use a rear brake to safely ride a motorcycle if you so choose to do so.

Yes they have their uses for manouvering and a bit of extra braking power, but they're a luxury that can easily be done without. :-)

Genius, I'd never thought of that wink I run a bike sized front plate to help with airflow, but I keep a full sized one in the boot in case I meet an arsey cop.

It's seriously strong industrial stuff I use, OP just make sure he can get his foot off quickly, I've hit the deck when I forgot to unclip paperbag

It's more the lack of a foot that you want to worry about...

I'd be a lot more worried if he did have feeling in it to be honest.
