to all my Somerset, Avon and Dorset, South West petrol-head buddies - just had my 120,000 mile Spyder Headlamps refurbished by Michael this morning.

They were pretty beat up - scratched, cloudy in places and feeling every single one of my 120k miles that have been covered over the last 8 years.

I bought a DIY kit from Halfords (big mistake and a waste of money) which basically scuffs up your headlamps and then clears the damage caused by the scratching with a brillo pad and special fk-your-headlamps-up-paste that comes with the kits - then you use the some kind of wonder spray that will not last very long. Luckily I only tried it on a 1" section of the lamps before finding and calling Michael to come and do it properly.

Michael arrived on time, took his time to first mask everywhere properly and cover the Spyder, then wet sand and wet polish each headlamp to a perfect finish. They now look like new and he also gave them a 2 year guarantee.

Bear in mind that a new headlamp for my car = £900 EACH SIDE !!!

I did my yellowish, slightly cloudy one with T-Cut scratch remover. 5 minutes with that and it looked like new.

he should have taken them out imo, they are quick release units which pop out with 1/2 a turn of one bolt, so 3 seconds to remove ! and then zero risk to the car.

but good news they now look great, tell your man next time to take the bloody light out 1st.
