Heading South to terrorize the French tomorrow. Plan to spend 3 nights near Sarlat in the daw-dog-nee, then zoom over to the Ardeche for 2 nights.

Crikey, my car will have over 10,000 miles on it when we get back - it will be 1 year old on Sat 4th June.

Hope to be moving there soon. See if you can find a dealer nearby, otherwise long drive back every year for a service

Have a great time.

It went brilliantly, got back last night. Car ran beautifully and did 2,000 miles on the trip. Only problem is my aircon has decided it won't turn off - not a big deal as I'd rather it was on than off.

Booked into dealers this coming Sat to have it looked at when I'm in the US (last few warranty snagettes after 12 months - door opening pingness and other smallies).

Tell you what though, France is no longer a petrolheads paradise. I had a few really close calls, I think I even had the French equivalent of an APB put out on me yesterday after passing a policeman trying to stop me at 90mph at full chat in 3rd. I'd just passed 2 dutch shedpullers on an empty N road, nothing in sight, very clear, perfectly safe. Gendarme jumps out of the only hedge for miles around right in front of me and does the 'Arret!' thing. Er, right. Look in mirror and he's on the radio, girlfriend says she saw 2 bike cops behind the hedge. sh1t. Nail it, into next village, turn off at first turning, zoom zoom. Head across country to the Autoroute and put some miles under the tyres - East instead of North. Phew.

I have more cop related tales for later.

Absolutely second that. Have holidayed around that area for the last 10 years and can't wait to take the new Tiv down there (if we can re-home the kids !).
The market on Saturdays is just amazing.
