Whats the most practical car out there

Looking at chopping in my w203 c class and the wifes f56 jcw and looking for the best all rounder the car that ticks the most boxes for a main car. It wont do huge miles as the mrs uses the train every day so will be getting her a station car too.

Current thinking is an e class estate big comfy loads of load space not big bucks to run.

Budget of say 25k

What other ideas have you got?

Get a Škoda superb estate with the 280bhp Golf R engine and 4wd.

It's got a bigger boot than even the E Class wagon, and you'll get a nearly new one for your budget.

I bought a 2016 L&K 280 a few months ago to replace a Touareg. Before that, I had a Galaxy and a 5 series estate.

I've sat in a newer Skoda Superb Estate L&K, its got absolutely loads of room, and if you like something a tad more unique there's a dark teal/blue colour which looked fantastic

Superb 280 same engine etc. with much more space and a lot less likely to get stolen

Landrover Discovery 4. Huge inside and boot is massive too. 8 speed auto is best as it will average about 30mpg.

Filter by drivetrain to 4 wheel drive, petrol, and 2.0

What’s being a doctor got to do with it? Do you have it on authority that doctors don’t drive Discoveries? Have you ever owned one, driven one or even sat in one? No thought not.

I on the other hand have owned a D3 and D4 for a total of 14 years. So unlike you, know what I’m talking about.

Besides a D4 was originally a 65k car unlike your electric Golf cart.

Frugal, invisible, vast, comfortable

I wouldn't have one, nor I suspect will you, you already know you want an E Class estate, buy that, it's not the most practical, you'll hate the hard seats and worry about leaving the thing, but overall you'll be happy.
