308 GTI Replacement

I've had my GTI 270 for almost 18 months and looking to change at the end of the year. It'll probably be worth around 11k at that point as a trade in. It's just had the discs and pads done which is a big expense on the GTI but fortunately it was covered under a maintenance plan I took out.
I'm looking to go a bit more sensible but something which still has decent power for when you need to use it. I'm forever slinging golf clubs and trolleys in the back which means putting the back seats down and its not really big enough. So decent boot capacity is a must. I've got a 40 mile daily commute which is all motorway.
I'm open to anything really, estates, suvs etc. I'd be looking to put another 6 or 7k on top of the p/x of the pug. I've looked at plenty on the classifieds but folk on here are always good at coming up with options I'd never have thought of.
