Another cataract/RLE question

For reasons I'll explain elswhere I'm investigating the results of cataract or RLE operations with particular reference to monofocal (not multifocal) lenses. Could those who have them share some information on the results?

• Presumably they are good/excellent at distance, but does this get worse in dim light or at night?
• What is the closest you can see clearly? Hopefully the TV at 2m or so is sharp.
• I'm guessing reading glasses are needed for computer screens at 2-3ft & tablets/phones at 1ft?
• Can you drive without glasses, ie can you see the dash clearly?
