Having owned the car a couple of weeks now, I have one major misgiving - high speed stability.
Reach 140 the other day (airfield of course😁) and was shocked how light and flighty the front end felt. My friend has had the same car for a yr and has only done 500 miles in it, after telling him how my car felt he tried his (I think he’d only ever done 120ish before) and he to reported exactly the same feeling around 140.
Subsequently a bit of internet searching many owners report the same issue.
Then today I see an advert saying McLaren are offering an MSO high downforce kit to help eleviate this problem for £9k fitted
This should have been sorted from the factory, the car reminds me of a tvr I had in the past, something I could accept from a glorified kit car not something I expected from a company like McLaren with their technical expertise

I'm not sure that the car is unstable at 140, I've only been over that once on an autobahn and it felt fine but I am interested in this advert where Mclaren admit the car has problems and state you'll have to spend 9k to correct them.

I Regularly go over 145 mph and 170 down back straight at Bedford . I have no issues at all either on the standard P Zeros or the Corsas I now run.

Suspension is more likely causing the issue as plenty of McLaren owners Vmax their 570’s above 200 mph.

One difference though is mine has the Track Pack with slightly improved aero, although shouldn’t make much difference

The McLaren Aero kit will be good although Novitec do similar at fraction of the price

You’ll be waiting for a long time. But then you already know that smile

650s here, regularly hit over 160 at Oulton Park. Perhaps is that the steering feels a bit lighter at those speeds that’s making you think the car is unstable. In fact, it’s the aero keeping the rear planted that makes the (very transparent) steering feel a bit lighter as the nose comes up.
