So I have a Lexmoto Michigan 125cc efi, I love the bike Its my second lexmoto and I've never had any issues with them what so ever.
I bought this bike brand new January 25th 2019 so it's about 6 month old and unfortunately yesterday my chain came off the cogs whilst I was riding. Luckily no further damage occurred however Ive brought it in for a service I had already scheduled today 13th July and I've been told I have to pay for a new chain and the labour on top of the service cost. The mechanic went through my warranty with me and basically listed every part on the bike that isn't covered by warranty all wear and tear parts etc. I asked him what actually is covered with the warranty and he couldn't give me an answer, he said "oh I'm not too sure really". Am I being conned? I've always found this dealership quite rude and abrupt with me and now I feel like they're just trying to rinse me of my hard earned cash. Can anyone help clarify what I'm actually covered for on a 2 year lexmoto warranty? Cheers

Chain and sprockets are never covered by warranty as they are wear parts, they also need regular cleaning, lubricating and adjusting to keep them in good condition. How many miles has the bike done and how often do you clean it and lube it??

Right that's fair enough, I've purchased products from the dealership for cleaning and lubricating and I do it every week - 10 days. I'm not a very mechanical person however I'm more than capable of basic cleaning maintenance etc the bike has only done 2700 miles

If the chain has jumped off the sprocket it was probably loose, small bikes use lightweight chains and they can 'stretch' in a short space of time. I have no idea what the quality of the original fit chain and sprockets are on your bike but as they are a budget make I would expect the same so will need a lot of looking after.

Okay, do you know if I could purchase a more durable heavyweight chain? Or am I limited to the lightweight lexmoto supplied one? Thanks for your advice too I'll do more throughout and regular maintenance

you could start here:

https://www.google.com/search?q=chain+and+sprocwek...

simple search in google for chain kits for Lexmoto, I don't know what model you have but you can search for the specific model.

As an aside I have a 2017 Triumph Street Triple RS that is heavier and far more powerful that your bike but it has 12.5k miles on it on the original chain and it looks virtually brand new. I clean and lube it about every 300 miles and on a recent trip abroad, 2400 miles in 11 days, it was lubed at the end of each day.
