wheel alignment

just picked the car up after having the camber angle, and wheel alignment checked, and all 4 wheels rebalanced, with all wieghts nicely hidden on inside.
(see grumble on previous post).
Cost me £110+vat, but oh what a difference, the only downside being that they found that one of the wheels didn`t balance to well, probably due to Isle of Wight pot-holes, I`d love to sue the council!

Where did you get the wheels aligned? Can you just take the car to a kwik fit type place?

i can't recomend wheel alignment enough.....

you can change your suspension to the most expensive system out there...... buts worthless unless the cars alignment is set up IMHO

I had mine done at Austec.... £100 + vat

But I am sure there are plenty of other places specialising in TVR set ups offering similar set-ups..

I could not believe how far my settings were out especially on the front, the rear just needed tweaking...

So... the lazer geometry set-up with along with new adjustable GAZ dampers n springs means.....

I know have a car that goes round bends on rails... rather then one that you have to wrestle every bit of the way.

just as a side note, I didn't have the wheel alignment until probably 1 - 2 months after fitting new suspension. My initial feeling of having the new suspension was of happiness, however in time I lost my rose tinted specks and actually came to the conclusion that the improved suspension actualy made the car handle worse then before.
Bends that I had wrestled previously were now needed a clear road as I needed the space to take them.... no confidence on road position coming out of them at all... hence Austec ... (I only used Austec cos I was working down that way at the time and I heard a lot of good things about them...... I am now back using Offords cos its nearer home and work now.. and I prefer them.... No disrespect to Austec they did a blinding a job sorting on the service and sorting out my niggles)

Hoover is dead right, had new shocks and thought all was well, and now its almost like having power steering and its like learning the feel of the car all over again!
Being on the isle of wight there is`nt anyone to do tvr`s down here, I did ask at my local ATS, but then I watched one of thier lads reverse a car into a truck parked outide, hmmmmmmmm, better look elsewhere I thought!!
I ended up going to a Mazda dealer,who had all the computer laser stuff, did the camber angle, wheel alignment and rebalanced all four wheels, come to think of it they did rip me off a bit on the wheel balancing, but after spending £400 on new shocks, then £130 all in is a good investment as it truly transforms the car!
