Hi

I'm after anyone's advice or experiences of the dreaded Notice of Intended Prosecution (NIP) for an alleged speeding offence. Is there a time limit Constabularies must adhere to when notifing drivers of such an offence? I've just been sent one 3 months to the day after I'd been allegedly caught. Just miffed really!!!

You'll get more response to this in the speeding, plod and the law forum, I suspect.

They've got 14 days to get the NIP to you, assuming you're the registered keeper of the car, IIRC. If not, it only has to go to the R/K in 14 days. They can then name you as the driver, and a new NIP is issued.
