Took the TR to a Classic show yesterday and a Gordon Keeble parked up next to me, nice old guy who owned it and I spent a hour or so chatting about it. He has owned it 10 years he said only 49 left in this country with the remainder abroad.

There were only 100 made. Under the bonnet was a Chevy 5.4 V8 which sounded sweet. Had a read up when I got home, then googled one for sale £90k.

Looks a bit like an Alvis from the front and Rover P6 from the back, and No the rear lights are not Rover P6 The pics below are off the net.

Love these things, friend and customer of the engine builders I help out at has one and we get it in for work every now and then. I drove it round from the yard in my early to mid 20's and was instantly smitten. The car is number 17.

Can remember first seeing one in either Chequered Flag or Performance Cars dealerships in West London back in the very early 70's and been a fan ever since....fabulous things.

As above, great things and superbly engineered. Shame I’ll never own one.

I can remember there was one round the back of Derwentwater School in Acton , London when I was a lad. Must have been before 1964. Is that possible.

How can a car that stylish fail?

Your suggestion for the rears not so, according to the guy on Sunday the rears came from Italy, he did order Rover P6 lights which did not fit

I saw this one last month, and had a chat with the owner's OH who said the rear lights were shared with a 60s Ferrari - so were crazily expensive!

But it's great that so many have survived.

Oh , forget the provenance of the odd component , just look at that shape. ..

Giugiaro at his very best - you can see the same cues in the :Alfa 2600 Sprint but the GK takes the crown. There are lots of old school hybrids (ie US muscle, European clothing ) and I have a thing for nearly all of them - with Bristol 409, Jensen CV8 , De Tomaso Mangusta and Bizzarini Strada being favourites (Cobra too, until the shape was devalued by poundshop imitations ) .

But the GK1 is the loveliest of them all- and if anybody is showing theirs at Silverstone Classic please may I have a sit? .

Same here, most of the 60's/70's US-European hybrids are top of my wants lists as well.

Facel-Vega HK500, Shelby Cobra, AC428, Iso Griffo, De Tomaso Mangusta, Bristol 411, Jensen Interceptor, Monteverdi 375 and of course the GK.

Funny how with planes it worked the other way around, drop in a Merlin and watch it really fly.

I recall reading many moons ago in Classic Car magazine that the rear lights were from a Ferrari 250 GTE- visually very similar to the P6. Google confirms my memory:
