Got punted off my bike last week...................by my mate behindrolleyes
Was doing a bit of filtering after a road closure forced us off course and things had backed up.I was plodding along steady keeping my eyes peeled when I saw a gap starting to appear in the traffic about 5 or 6 cars ahead. Over the cars I saw a chap on a mobility scooter being waved across the road where the gap had appeared so eased off to a trundle. I was level with the rear wing of the lead car, almost at standstill, when I heard a screech of tyres and then my bike got punted forwards as I was hit from behind. Managed to hang on for a while and as the bike went across to the right I managed to gracefully step off it as it went down.
Looked back to see my mate on the floor with his bike next to him. As I was looking at him I noticed a sea of yellow and blue hi viz and a load of bikes parked in the car park with lots of people looking our way. As soon as I had seen them I knew it was a Bikesafe day. What a place to crash!!!!!
Two coppers came over and took the particulars, my mate had managed to hit a Merc in the queue as his bike was coming back down from his unplanned stoppie.Me and my bike OK apart from a couple of minor scratches, my mate and his bike Ok apart from a bit of cosmetics. No prosecutions pending so apart from my mate having a claim against him , it could have been a lot worse. Nearly managed to talk myself into a ticket after arguing about my number plate. He insisted it was too small. I told him it was legal.I argued there was no minimum size, only minimum character sizes, spaces and margins but he said I was wrong.Thought it was easier to shut up and get out of it in the end.
Had better days but it could have been a lot worse aswell! Yes, cool starry bra blah de blah...............

Haha you are not alone !

Donkies years ago sitting at some traffic lights waiting to turn left, I said to mate next to me I was going to pull into the BP for some fuel. He nodded and when the lights changed I blasted off to get ahead of him (I was on his right at the lights). Get to the BP which was about 200yards from the traffic lights, hit the left indicator and start pulling in. At that point it all went tits up, literally. The utter gonad for some reason thought I meant the BP about 2 miles further down the road rather than the one about 200yards from the traffics lights rolleyes

As he undertook us his front brake lever ripped my jeans, nearly tore my thighs open and split the petrol tank on my bike. I went down like a sack of spuds in the forecourt with my pillion sliding on his arse in a seated position grinding to a halt almost perfectly next to a pump .. I went spilling across the forecourt with the bike chasing me. The stupid bd who hit me despite having his front brakes briefly locked up when he hit us, managed to stay upright and wobble to a stop some few hundred feet up the road.

Happened right outside the night club we frequented 5 nights a week too, needless to say we swore at each other, parked up the bikes and headed for some alcoholic anaesthetic

So yeah , just like you I also have some special mates wobble

I ran in the back of my mate who was riding his BSA A50. I was on my Velocette. At a junction, assumed he'd go when it was clear but he wanted to tell me he was going straight home. No real harm done, British bikes are made of sturdy stuff hehe

About 20 years ago, I was following my uncle onto a roundabout. We were taking the 3rd exit and generally would be knee down if traffic was very light. Just as my knee touched down and I committed, he decided to abort (as he had now spotted the police bike parked in the 2nd entrance to the roundabout). I was too slow in reacting and hit his rear wheel flush with my front. Somehow, I stayed upright and he went down.... And slid gracefully across the road to stop about 15ft from the policeman. Who shook his head and tutted a bit before helping us gather up the bits and leaving us to it.

My uncle was on a 748 Ducati and apart from the cosmetic damage, the clutch basket broke and he was stranded waiting for the AA.... Cost me a good few hundred quid and a lot of pee taking.

When I had the Ducati, three of us were headed to somewhere off the M3 to look at a suspension tweak for my bike - after miles on the motorway, we pulled off on the relevant junction, only for me to slow down as I noticed a car coming from my right at the top of the junction/as it flowed onto the roundabout.

The chap behind me thought I'd race the car and therefore didn't look at me again.

He really rammed my bike with his. Both of us off. I had damaged fairings, bent rear wheel.

His damage was more cosmetic and a slightly buckled front wheel.

he is an Advanced Rider/Observer.

The eventual bill came to £3k! He got his bike recovered within an hour, mine took two for the truck to appear and then I had the dubious pleasure of riding pillion on a Honda Deauville back to Streatham...

I've mentioned this on PH before in response to another thread, not in BB, though ...

My, injured, mate offered me his TZ125 to race alongside my TZ250 at Dundrod, in order to get a few extra laps in.

Great idea, I thought. He brought the bike to (Dundrod pits) me saying it was good to go, with a fresh set of front pads.

The first practice lap was, err, interesting. He had installed the pads back-to-front/metal-to-metal!

He was a Mech Eng student at the time. rolleyes

Although that was half a lifetime ago, he still gets the piss ripped out of him whenever some old friends get together.
